I cant see why it wouldnt work. I would try and find an earthing point a bit closer to your antenna connection though, at UHF CB frequencies that length of wire might cause troubles. Also I would maybe choose a BNC socket instead of the SO239 if only for the size, but better performance as well. There's my thoughts. But good on ya for having a go! Plenty wouldnt and be too scared to try.
