Site updates
#11
test test, on the new free server x10webhosting.com ... is ye posting ok mr php and mrs mysql?

got a $36 bill Friday for another years hosting. (this site, plus rodneystevens.com australiamatters.com indycar.stream)

$36 is 4 boxes of 4lt sonata sweet cheap assed dan monkeys wine.

this site (originally created as a second choice to radiorampage.com) is dead (my fault for being a boozed up fuckwit ... unhappy folks can delete their account in their settings) so taking a gamble on a free host (they delete sites without warning) thus the on-off forum state the last few days trying to figure out how to upload a 280mb sql file on a server that only allows 50mbs.

dang, gccb theme, avatars etc still need a twiddle.

10/10 somewhere ignoring  :vasfag: (aka ivan)

As  Confusedeven: found out today, image attachments are playing up after a recent webhost change over this week.

Attachments have been turned off until I figure out the issue.

The new free host x10hosting.com only gave me 500mb for the account which has this site and my rodneystevens.com running on it .. 400mb used so far and not wanting to fill that up yet. (they will double hosting space on request, but I'd rather not ask so soon)

Plan B, toe nail lovers ...
1. upload ya images to popular anonymous http://tinypic.com (no sign up needed)
2. once uploaded, it will show a screen with "Share This Image"
3. chose "IMG Code for Forums & Message Boards"
4. copy the text in the yellow box below it .. then paste in a message here

Link should look like the one below .. but without the extra G's
(I added to make sure the image would NOT show up twice)

[IMGG]http://i64.tinypic.com/jhd4yp.png[/img]

photo showing is from the same link BUT without the extra G in [IMG]

I tracked the attachment issue down.
The free host has limited what the public can upload on any sites hosted on their servers.
I'm trying to get them to bend thier rule a bit..

https://x10hosting.com/community/threads...75.205420/

Good to see Confusedeven: trying Tinypic ... but if you want to delete anything there you'll have to sign up with a password and valid email.

Next time I have a spare $12 I might move everything to https://www.hostbudget.com

I haven't worked in over three weeks and don't feel like doing any, anytime soon.

Confusedeven: you were able to do tinypenis here as well before changing host.

Whoops sorry, tinywinkie  :russell:

I'm going to start brown nosing in the x10Hosting free forums (harldy any support from the owners on the free host accounts) and help folks out (got the RSS feed in Thunderbird now...errr, not that  Wood_chop Thunderbird  :love4Smile .. maybe I'll get 775 eventually so we can get attachments back.

I just made love to a  Chicken

an error somewhere in the custom theme is racking up error reports, that then clog up the limited hosting disc space.
ugly default theme is on site wide until it's fixed.

Monkeys log update: turns out this version of SMF forum software 1.1.21 is playing up because web hosts don't use older versions of PHP 5.3 (data base that drives it all) any more. It's all 5.4 and up.

Forum software needs an upgrade to SMF 2.x.x.x series but there are bugs in the 1.1.21 site php pages and data base (old entries from add-ons added and removed over the last 10 years) stopping the upgrade somewhere.

Plan B, fuck SMF..

MyBB (free) looks good and they have a SMF to MyBB converter that I'm trying to figure out.

Well, I have 'Dave' on the job https://community.mybb.com/thread-219255.html
https://www.simplemachines.org/community...c=561707.0

Whether new posts happen or not is irrelevant .. there's 10 years of good and bad (hahaha) Gold Coast
CB history here. I don't want to flush it all like that RadioRampage owner did.
The ghosts of RR live on though ... https://twitter.com/radio_rampage

Until the change over everything will be in stock theme mode with minimal opinions. (attachments and stuff have been playing anyway due to the older 1.1.21)

Hosting and software are free now days. Just wish I could pay someone to figure out where the old bananas are clogging up the drain, cause my head is getting sore after 48 hours awake tinkering with this stuff.

I is monkey. [shit my monkey icon is missing]
