The pound is stabilizing already.

Yeah poop, bit broke atm. I stayed in sober watching movies.
Maybe I should sign up for what ever Assfellow does for an income.

Old Roland amp - valve or transistor job?

Kookie came back yesterday and we both ate
some of the fish fillets for lunch.

I looked into a meter last week
but anything decent was over $400

I'll google ionization chambers  Icon_thumleft

Geez I should check here more often, lots of replies since I was last here.

Dunno if the 'quote' thing worked coz 'preview' doesn't seem to work Undecided

Anyhow, good that you & kookie enjoyed some imported fish :-)

Yes most radiation detectors are expensive since the Fukushima disaster, Geiger tubes have become ridiculously expensive...even the "post cold war" Russian surplus.
Which is why ionization chambers are a great alternative. They are used in many data collectors around the Fukushima site to report current radiation levels. (avail online)

I've recently "downgraded" to Windows 10 so all my media is all over the place ATM. I'll post some very simple schematics & pics for an ionization radiation detector in the tech section here when I find it all. 2 darlington transistors, (or 2 PNP/NPN pairs) a few resistors, a panel meter and of coarse a cat/dog food or baked beans can for the chamber. :-)

It wont be as accurate as a "Gamma Scout" Geiger counter but also doesn't have the $500 price tag...a few $'s in parts is all it takes.

Cheers 249.

I ended up eating all the fillets after all
and I'll probably buy more.

If man can survive in a few mm thick tin can in outer space
and come back alive to tell all, then I guess a little bit
of Fukushima in my diet wont hurt.

Neil Armstrong was the first to walk on the moon...
Anyone know the name of the guy outside the Apollo
filming those first steps?

LOL, love that moon golf shot, where the golf ball sliced in a vacuum.

I was walking on the beach dunes today, and buggered if I could get a nice
clear crisp detailed sand print of my work boots in the hot sand.

On second thoughts, I might not buy that brand of fish anymore.

Bloody Assfellow has the 100+ watts back out and was getting all cocky again tonight.

At the same time some blow in calling itself "Maverick" was trying to provoke me onto the radio.

I had better things to do - but kept one ear on the radio.

The Maverick turd seems to be someone from about 25 years ago off the old 27mhz,
as he was also slandering Darren Phoenix (who wasn't even on) and Tiny, (the fat guy
that used to live at Labrador many moons ago, about 1990)

Assfellow thought it was a great time to slag me off as well.
Oddly Assfellow didn't stick up for his supposed friend Phoenix though.

Nothing intelligent came out of the Mavericks mouth; just the usual lame mother trash and such.

Assfellow assumed the prick wanted to hear a three year update of
all the local crap. In hindsight, he just wanted to hold the mic in for 5 minutes and grand stand
about how much of a supposed victim he has been.

He proceeded to speak of how wonderful the old days were when channel 4 was on, with
him there, BUT he went on to blame Zane for it shutting down over that aerial sale
and high powered signals (like Assfellows) interfering with the cops radios at the site.

Fuck, Assfellow sounded so innocent - it was such a convincing speech. I almost cried.

Assfellow went on alluding that all those that hang around Zane today, only
do so because they want stuff from him. Oddly Assfellow forgot to mention
no one hangs around him at all.

While laying on the zero guilt ass-charm, Assfellow had a dig at 249
making him sound ungrateful for not being happy with "$10" per radio
job from the CB-Guru business he would send his way.

No one missed out - he threw mud at DimSim as well. Ivan got on for a second,
and Assfellow claimed Ivan and DimSim go "camping together".

Two weeks ago Assfellow claimed Bulldog "uses LSD".

And on and on... Metho won't be able to get over Assfellow's "5 watts", so the
channel is going to shit again for a while. I might take up night golf.

Fark, four days at 20kb/s are over at last.
Next door neighbor had Telstra phone problems,
so a tech came around mid-day Friday and fixed their
issues but fricked ours at the same time.

15 minutes before the Telstra dude knocked on our
door today, our dial tone was restored.

Chinese Telstra dude claimed he didn't do anything.
When asked who was going to be billed for his
time to park and knock on our door, he said
Exetel-Optus (our mob).

Fricking typical Telstra - they fuck something up
on Friday, then charge others a fee on Monday,
while we had to go without for four days.

So without Boobtube, I had to watch TV last night.

60 Minutes trailer had a story coming up about "reboot of the nerds".
https://www.9now.com.au/60-minutes/2016/episode-23

So I sat and waited. Fricking hell, they praised a
kid for simply puling a tablet apart and making a version
others can put back together. A second kid
was praised because he made a remote
sensor that emailed his mom when the mail man
dropped a letter in the home mail box.

Doesn't the mail man come at the same time each day?

Fark, what's next, an email when the trash guy comes?

Fark, poor old  Grandpa didn't miss out.
His young grand daughter has his house bugged with
wifi cameras to watch him in his jocks.

Another group of pre-teens were praised for
carrying RFID chips to log themselves into
and out of class. Geez, give 'em 5 years
of indoctrination and they'll beg to
be implanted like animals with implantable chips.

I cant believe the crap 60 Minutes palms
off as new initiative inventions and "rebooted" inventors.

The same show in China or Japan
on the same topic would be vastly
different.

Geez we're falling behind, and our media
thinks it's all a praise worthy report card.
Makes me fricking sad if that's the best we have to show off.

Ow well, I gots the internets back now so I
don't have to turn that outdated programming crap on
and watch "mental illness" fricked up adverts.

60 Miniutes was giving me mental illness after only 30 minutes.

Fark I hear some shit on the radio from time to time.

Just now shit for brains was on doing a solo about some drunks he's
supposedly going to force to use another route on their push bikes.

Really, that ass clown that wont open his front door to me and be a man,
and has a call sign named after alcohol, is supposedly going to force people
to ride their bikes elsewhere?

Ow anyways, another gig Number 7  Icon_thumleft

That whole having money (fark $5 for one beer etc), clean clothes, having
a bath and drink driving thing slows me down a bit now days.

I've known Darren Phoenix for 30 years and still haven't made it
to any of his gigs yet - but I may surprise ya'll one day.

Just rolled out of bed and had lunch ..

I've been having two of these for breakfast, lunch and dinner the last
two months and I still love them.

Aldi 24 mystery meat snags $7.90 = 33 cents each
Bread 85c loaf divided by 20 slices = 4c per slice
Onions and sauce another = 10 each

Works out about 47c each.

Ya blownin good money ($2.50+ each) at Bunnings, Number 7  Tongue3

American funny guy Tom Mabe did a good one today. They dressed up a pro singer
as a homeless guy, and raised $640 that they later gave to the real homeless.

Fark, $640 would keep me stocked up with BBQ sausages for a while ...

256 from Bunnings .. or
1361 from Aldi
