Yeah they look good, but you'll have to wait at least 2 weeks from China.

They aren't waterproof so you have to have them under cover.
I've had mine out in the weather, but under a tin roof for a couple years
with no issues.

I have a couple of usb outputs with cig lighter plug for the car - already wired and good to go. Just need to sacrifice a usb cable to plug into the camera

Shit I didn't notice the ad says waterproof, but don't believe it.
More so weather resistant. They are really for indoor use, but mine is doing fine
under a drafty tin roof. Keep the rain off them and they work.

They can be mounted upside down on a supplied bracket as well.

The upside down picture gets flipped right way up with
a click of the control panel software.

Got my second package from the Philippines today - 6 more quality solar panels

                       

They are a bit light-weight and fragile looking to try and set up in this wind - il wire them up and maybe test tomorrow

Geez stuff gets here quick from the Philippines. Boat people must be paddling quicker.

So, 9 cells at supposedly 160mA each.
Being conservative let's say they do around 100mA each,.

That's still about 1 amp in full sun which should be just enough for the camera. You'd be stuffed on cloudy days though.

The shinny top clear coat on those cells tend to go dull after being exposed
to sunlight. That reduces output. Cheap garden lights are similar and die all the time for that
reason. Not sure what to use, but a wet silicon spray or oil coating might help keep them fresh.

Maybe a coat of Poison Ivy's vaseline he uses to lube his pram wheels?

My first project was a few of those cells with a control charger
strapped on a flat board that sat on an engine-less mower
with a car battery - Would have taken 2 years to charge the battery once.
I had a video of it but it in hindsight it was so embarrassing that
I deleted it from Youtube a while ago.

I am only using these panels for the internet dongle - power for the camera will be another challenge
I am thinking of buying a pocket wifi with a battery so the solar only has to charge it and wont drop out when the sun goes behind a cloud for a few minutes

My previous test had the dongle almost working on 3 panels so 6 should be enough and if its not too messy I will add the other 3 for extra power!!

I have an ancient solar panel that I use to charge batteries when camping to run fridge, tv etc and it works well.
This will be the first full build I have done - hope its not a complete waste of time.

You think a nice coating of VAS will help them last a bit longer?

LOL, here's the first 12v solar project I tried to make a few years ago.


Today after sitting out doors in the weather.
Originally it was sealed around the edges with duct tape, but
condensation stuffed that idea up.


From memory, I think the collective would output 15v in full sun.

Amps, LOL, fark all.


This is what your 9 cells will look like after a while.


These other style held up and are still putting out.
I might include them somehow into my 5v setup on page 1.


I ended up manning up, and getting myself a 100 watt Honda.

No more mess, no more worries.

Ya sit a 100 watt panel on an old shit mower that no one
wants to steal - they'll think it's all rooted and leave it alone.
