She was a good old chicken, never greedy or pushy (unlike old whittie), always polite, spoke back with a 'chook chook' sound when spoken to, liked to sit on my boot and listen to FairDinkum radio each week, got me outer bed to open her house on those days I otherwise would have slept in, warned us all of snakes, loved pizza and flat VB, was funny to watch run around the yard, and always liked to hang around the work bench keeping me company on the rare occasions I actually did any work. Yes she was just a chicken that only ever laid one egg for me, but a cool chicken that had personality. She'll be hard to replace. Chicken that
I could never figure out why she hung out here on her own rather than hang out with the 10+ chooks Wayne has up next door - there's a hole in the fence where they come down here sometimes. She knew the hole well, but liked to live as a solo bird, with that solo drunk human she adopted one night about two years ago. I might get a goat next - the Singapore daisy is getting out of hand. Is it Friday yet

((( hugs ))) to you Cooter , I know she was your little buddy and you were a great friend to her. That chicken had one amazing chicken life with you. Of course she hung out with you rather than the other chickens, you gave her flat beer, pizza, spaghetti and lots of pats and attention. What more could a chicken want ?
