"boom baddy boom baddy boom boom boom"
Well, kinda something like that (I was a bit sober and lacking an attention span)

Starten to get sick of Cruntfellow blocking the truth, so I finally pulled down the mast today.

Didn't notice when the yagi went up last time, but there was a fricking giant entry way for bull ants.
16 element I got off DaVo for free - made by that Victorian knob on eBay.
Seems bull ants like aluminum. All their soggy piss and shit filled the lower half of the dipole.
Corrosion was starting to set it as well. (Gus knows all about that)
Evicted the ants and blocked the large hole - back to 1.2 on the SWR meter now. (was 3.5)
This is how I store unused aerials.
I'm not sticking the Cruntfellow crusher 16 element back up.
I'm going to take my time, copy the 16 element dipoles, and get David Dimmock's old twin back up.
Speak shit while you can. Cruntfellow.

So the SWR of bullants is 3.5:1 ?
I need to have a look at that dipole termination me thinks.

Aarrhhh, the outer shielding crumbed on me, so I've carefully pulled the coax out to take measurements.
Come get some of your own if you like.
It doesn't say what rating it is on the coax.
Dear electronics guru , is there a way to use a multimeter to determine the dieload of coax?
On another topic that has nothing to do with trespassers - you reckon Uniden Bear Cats would have an inbuilt fuse on the board?
Vince did the big reverse polarity on his, and now he cant hear the catering channel. (LOL, serious, ask DaVo)
I'll go pick it up in the next few days - maybe we can figure out if it's a boat anchor or not.

Not with a multimeter no, but Id say its standard 50 ohm coax.

Might have to include a reverse polarity protection circuit to it me thinks.

Been nice and calm on air the last two days.
Mailman must have made it to Mr Murray yesterday.
A regulator, huh
I'm sure Vince will cover any parts and throw ya some dosh for ya time.
He loves it, as it's got so many channels programmed in it already.
What, a 50 ohm dieload?
The Yagi calculator software I gots usually jigs for 75 omh if I remember right.
I'll measure and cut some new 50 ohm from the original sizes and give it a whirl tomorrow.
Once the twins are fixed, I'll give you the 16
According to the trespasser, line of sight, a 16 element and 5 watts is all he needs.
You'll have the same, BUT be closer. And maybe if you point it at Brisbane you'll wipe half of them out as well
Just about to check this series out - they and you might convince me one day .

Yes I'm hoping that Vince has just knackered a 3 terminal regulator in his scanner.
Bloody hard to find schematic diagrams for those Uniden Bearcat things.

Looks like we gots an unhappy dieload, err, diode.
Nothing else looks crusty except the small area near the power input.
