My old tart the Kenwood TS830s actually does have vox on it, not sure about the Heathkit in the movie.

My guess it that the actors simply forgot to press the PTT 

Bit like the times you see on movies people using hand helds and using them like telephones both receiving and transmitting at the same time

Gay elitist class system brag flick hidden behind a sci-fi train story line.

They could have used the perpetual-motion engine in a large dome city, but they chose a multiple carriage class system scenario instead.

 LOL   Although i have heard both Cooter and Jack speaking on air with the baofeng roger beep activated while they were talking properly in the past,  i am 100% sure its NOT Cooter doing the constant annoyance roger beep button pushing that we hear all the time recently.  I have been over at Cooter's place talking to him while it was going on so cannot be him just for the record.  

Whoever it is doing it either has a big problem upstairs OR is extremely sad and bored.  Grow up is all i have to say to them.    


BTW:  I have spoken with the owner of channel 03 repeater and it is confirmed that is has a major fault.  Basic fixes have failed and the owner will NOT be back till Mid May to repair it back to full and proper functionality.
