Pull the other there DaVo!
Maybe from stand-by 5 seconds.
Seriously...
- Download Linux Mint ISO and burn it to disc. http://www.linuxmint.com/download.php
- put the disc in ya drive.
- shut down, reboot
- select boot from cd in bios
- run linux mint from the cd as a "live cd' for a while (runs in ram) and see if the laptop still plays up.
If the laptop runs fine via a live cd, then either your OS is gay or the SSD is dicky.
I had blue screen before as well. Bloody Avast anti-virus crashed me after an update I thinks. (it's happened before with that shit)
Thank for backups
Yeah okay that was an exaggeration obviously, its not 5 seconds its actually 12 seconds exactly from system off to in windows i just timed it. LOL
Yeah funny you say that i use Avast as well so maybe that was the issue. Anyways, formatted and running better so see what happens, if its still playing up its going in the bubbles boot..

After trying to update Avast, i got the error....
pci.sys f748e0bf
I couldn't even get my XP install disc to run properly.
I thinks I'm going back to AVG for awhile.

Yerrr AVG used to be the best, i always used it and it was awesome. Then they made 2014 version and all it ever does it updates and asks stupid questions its so foookin annoying so since then i told them to jump of a bridge and i use Avast instead.. Why is it that they always fk up a good thing? :mumum:

Went and finally saw the bloke cOOters dad recommended to sort my car out.
The "car whisperer" got it sorted! Yay and it didn't cost the earth either.
Chopper is happy today, now Im going to find some whiskey to celebrate, found some of the Johnny Walker someone left lying around here one day I was playing with some radios stuff.

Very slight 5mm left right steering wheel movement while on the highway. Around town it's OK.

DaVoooo copy
Anyways....
While in K-Mart shopping for hippy clothes the other week, I was tempted to buy a $10 "1 watt" LED torch. (large one)
First I though it would be a piece of shit, so I ripped out the plastic that stops the batteries going flat, and tried it in store.
Bloody thing surprised me as it was bright enough to spot shine on the walls and ceiling in a full lit store.
Last week I seen these little suckers on eBay that are supposedly "7 watts 400LM" for $4.95. So much power from a little sucker seemed like a load of dimmock droppings. For the price I took a gamble. Bought one and four batteries (only needs one AA Ultrafire or regular AA) and the charger for $13 all up.
Got it yesterday and tested it last night. Bloody thing runs rings around the K-Mart shit box that I though was good. Zooms in and out real well. I can clearly see stuff 200 meters away on the zoom.
It's more like 110LM per the Cree website specs for an XP-E LED, but for the price..ow well. I lost the docket for the big one, otherwise the Kmart wanger would be going back and replaced with two more Cree's. Bloody modern technologies amaze me. I'm going to miss cheap slaves goods in the future when WW3 starts.
Took the out today. Got a bit pissed, fell asleep on the beach with no sunscreen on and my wanger hanging out, the tide came in, and I had to swim home cause the left without me. Onlookers said a homeless guy is using it for his new marine shopping trolley.

Ive got a couple of Jaycar ones from their junkbox ages back, one is 1 watt, the other 3 and Im pretty impressed with them.
1 watt one takes 2 AA cells, 3 watt 3 AA cells and rechargeables work well too.
Worst part and no doubt why they were in the junkbox, is that the "rubber" over the switches on them falls to bits, often along with the switch itself, I bodged a toggle switch into 1 I use in the skunkworks, the other is still hanging in there, just.
