LOL, last night on CH07 I heard non-licensed Bundy talking over-air about he programming & selling Icoms: "I'll get the bastards up to 25 watts & get back to you Timmy".
[/quote]

Yeah that is very naughty but personally i don't care what other ppl do, its up to them.   But on the other hand i have had it with this Bundy dude,  he called me and Chopper "tosspots" which is no big deal but just because we like talking to cooter and talk about stuff that "Bundy" thinks is garbage or dribble.  why come down if you don't like the convo ?   We are privileged to have 2 channels to chose from yet you go out of your way to come to channel 3 where the people that you don't like are ???   That doesn't make sense unless you are just there to instigate and cause trouble..  Why ?    Debilos-1

And on another note Bundy decided to bring up my coax sale along with his baiting and digging at cooter on ch.3.   Just like to say Bundy that there is no law, rules or regulations to say what Coax you can have OR sell.  There is crap coax and really good coax and you can use which ever you like and do what you like with it thank you very much.   Every time you open your mouth you make yourself look and sound like a dumb shit.  If you don't like someone for e.g  (cooter) then stay away from them or confront them in person about the issue.   Don't come down to 3 and bait and abuse him with digs and stupid crap which fks the whole channel for everyone else..     Tool

Think about it idiot.

Davo is right, but note a few things. An amateur radio with CB frequencies programmed into it is not type approved, neither are things like PRM80's FM900's Taits or the like regardless of programming or power output.
Even if you are a licenced amateur radio operator you cannot use CB frequencies that are programmed into your amateur radio. No, not even on 5 watts.
Contrary to popular belief there IS a restriction on EIRP, in other words your antenna.

"A transmitter employed in a CB station:

  (a)  must operate with a transmitter power not exceeding 5 watts; and

  (b)  must not exceed an EIRP of 8.3 watts;"

Yeah that is how it goes unfortunately, its exactly how chopper said.  Problem i have with it is,  I dunno which knob jockey came up with those rules and regulations because as time goes by, technology advances and gets more efficient and better when it comes to electronics anyways,  shame same can't be said about the world but anyways.   The rules and regulations should be updated to suite in my opinion and it just shows how much they really care about there regulation of CB.  That regulation was enforced a long time ago when it came to a repeater,  i can understand the limitation for a repeater so as not to interfere with others and limit its range but for other stations its ridiculous and here is why..

Here is an e.g:  You go buy a Ripp Off Stock GME 80ch UHF CB radio with an output of 5 Watts and install it into your car.   You then buy an RFI 6.5dBi antenna with 5m of Belden RG-58 and attach and connect it to your "legal" UHF CB radio.

5 Watts coming out of the "legal" UHF CB radio goes into the 6.5dBi RFI mobile antenna,  the total Loss of RF travelling in the 5 meters of RG-58 coaxial cable is 1.52dB which then leaves a total of 3.524 watts out of the original 5 watts coming out of the UHF CB radio that now gets to the antenna.   3.524 watts then enters the RFI 6.5dBi mobile Antenna and is then amplified in the way of "gain" and then that 3.524 watts that entered the antenna is now turned into 9.598 watts ERP and / or 15.741 watts EIRP!!   So this is now "Illegal" technically speaking.   Tears   Most people use even less length of coax cable so the power would be even higher in real life circumstances.  Just imagine if we are talking Big home base station Verticals that you can buy for "CB"     Debilos-1

With the addition of higher gain antennas in the market and better quality cables etc..  This stupid regulation should have been amended for the times we live in.   Anyways,  you get the point,  that is why i couldn't be fked nor bothered with this so called "private organization" and there regulations nor the "elites" who run this world that is going down the drain...      Pottytrain5

I do... he is a mate of mine and there are reasons for the restrictions.
