Off to the free range paddock in the sky.
She was a good old chicken, never greedy or pushy (unlike old whittie), always polite,
spoke back with a 'chook chook' sound when spoken to, liked to sit on my boot and listen
to FairDinkum radio each week, got me outer bed to open her house on those days I otherwise would have slept in,
warned us all of snakes, loved pizza and flat VB, was funny to watch run around the yard,
and always liked to hang around the work bench keeping me company on the rare occasions I actually did any work.
Yes she was just a chicken that only ever laid one egg for me, but a cool chicken that had personality.
She'll be hard to replace.
Rest in peace me old Henny Penny, chook-a-lok chook-a-lok
