Seen that a while back and I thought the same at first.
The government doesn't keep the money, it just goes into security until it's claimed by the owner.
The practice is old.
Only difference now days is the shorter time frame on inactive accounts.
Although, of late, the bloody so called government has created a tax on personal savings. It's fark all, but still a tax.
Stuff on my radar today is wars, and rumors of wars...
