licence?   can anybody complain if it only outputs 5watts?

no difference if I call you on a channel and then you call somebody else and repeat what I said to you on a different channel

or holding 2 radios together on different channels re transmitting what I say

set it up with chinese rubbish on like a 40 something and 70 something channel, put     :dimmock:   s  name on it and dont tell him what channel its on

Sadly yes you need to licence a repeater even if it puts out a flea's fart worth of TX power.

That diplexor is very interesting, but it needs a minimum separation of TX and RX frequencies of 4MHz, UHF CB is 0.75MHz apart.

Its harder to keep TX energy from the RX radio the closer in frequency they are, and I dont reckon that diplexor could be modified to suit a 0.75MHz split, but Im happy to be proven wrong.

Damn it would be nice to have one to play with and a nice spectrum analyser with tracking generator to see if it can be modified.

Ive been after a spectrum analyser for a while... hmmmm...

Pity as its the right price. You COULD use it and have run a non standard TX RX split but the ACMA are going to get very interested in your repeater then. 

I found a small cache of old radios in the Skunkworks, I'll have a tinker when Im up to it, stay tuned.

11pm last night Gary's second SMS reply woke me up.

It seems the ACMA law preacher (see video below) Gary doesn't
like it when others mention ACMA law.

There would be no issue if Gary simply answered the ETA question in the first sent SMS.

You know, like it's been off for two weeks.

So I rang him shortly after 11pm last night.

He's supposedly back on the coast today 28/10/16.
Gee, he could have told us that in the first SMS.

Now, because I dared ring back and ask what he meant by
"carring on" (sic), he's now supposedly going to shut down channel 03 for good.

Yeap, group punishment because one person asked a question.

Those of you that care, better call or sms him and let him know cooter
don't speak for you.

ACMA law lover, Gary Grevis.

Gary supposedly used to enter peoples properties (cars) and confiscate (steal)
CB radios. He'd claim he was authorized to do so.

He used to stalk users, track them and dob them in.

That fun all came tumbling down when the ACMA seen this
video of him acting like some sort of Government offical.

Turned out Gary was never authorized to do squat
He's just an ordinary member of the public like the rest of us.

He ended getting into deep shit.

Yeah, don't ask Gary a question or remind him of "continuous use"
ACMA rules, otherwise he'll go all Stalin with group punishment.

number 7 does the mic have a landline phone looking plug cause i have one spare from a gme tx3800 i also have the unit but its tuned to the mining channels on straddie plus i dont have a adapter for the antenna.
