Re: Forum Chat - Thunderbird - 09-01-2014 Been playing with my Rapberries a bit this arvo, and yes my WiFi is dicky. I think its a power supply issue, need to do more testing me thinks. I followed the instructions on getting YouTube videos to work on the Pi, and yep, they work fine, in full 1080 if available, but I have no sound! Had to run the script twice, and reboot 3 times though. Not really a problem if yer Pi boot in mere seconds from power up eh? ![]() I have sound on the Pi itself but I suspect that as the YouTube doodad runs on the GPU not the CPU that's the problem and my sound is flowing down the old HDMI connection, not the 3.5mm jack I was using. I have 5 USB WiFi doodads of various vintages, some truly ancient, only 1 works so far out of the box, the rest need their firmware downloaded. 1 left to test when I find it, its mounted in a ex Galaxy dish ![]() More experimenting tomorrow if I get a chance.

Press shift on boot and get the pre-OS screen Advanced section lets ya pipe audio to hdmi or 3.5mm. ![]() Re: Forum Chat - Thunderbird - 09-01-2014 Thanks cOOter but Ive tried that one, and from within X-windows as well. Im still a Linux noob even though I've been playing with it since Redhat was new and you had to bugger about with boot floppies to make it install on yer Panasonic SoundBlaster interfaced CD Rom drive. ![]() Still have my ancient Redhat discs and I just noticed, a double CD marked Linux Developers Resource 1996! ![]() Trouble is, brain is busted so I forget everything all the time... now what was I on about? ![]() Re: Forum Chat - cOOter - 10-01-2014 Shit hey. Maybe it's a bug in the plugin you added. If ya play an audio file from a spare usb do you get sound? I tried an mp3 yesterday in the default player but it went spaz on me ![]() I downloaded noobs last night and will start again on a TEAM class 10, 8 gig card. (been using a class 4 sandisk) ![]() Re: Forum Chat - cOOter - 10-01-2014 ![]() New big buddy called Dimmo snake. ![]() No fear of humans. Slept there like that all night. Glad we don't see browns around here like this. Henny Penny wont be happy if snake Dimmo still be there in the morn. http://www.thefreedictionary.com/morn Re: Forum Chat - Kyrandia - 11-01-2014 You can keep the snake at your place thanks , I will happily swim with sharks but snakes scare the crap out of me Re: Forum Chat - Thunderbird - 11-01-2014 My budgies got scared looking at the photos of snake Dimmo there. The cat however didn't get scared. Maybe it was someone's pet? It looks to me to be a python of some sort? Odd that it isn't the least bit scared of humans, most snakes piss off when a human is around
Re: Forum Chat - cOOter - 11-01-2014 Dimmo snake left at about 2am, oddly about the same time I was super raptor pissed and singing out-a-loud ![]() Henny Penny has been in the shack all day and hasn't spotted anything nasty yet. (she makes bad ass noises when danger is near) I guess Dimmo snake will be back tonight. Poor old carpet python is OK there, just not near the budgies, otherwise...death cometh near it.

Re: Forum Chat - King_DaVo - 11-01-2014 That was one awesome looking snake. Strange place for it to be among us making noise and carrying on.. Good shelter i reckon that's why.
