Attention CBRS ABC-03 VHU-04, and SOU-07 license holders: (VNR-08 is exempt because it's almost in NSW and not a problem for Gold Coasters.) Holders of the above mentioned licenses, you are hereby asked on this Sunday 21 of June, 2009 to use those rented licenses, or move to cancel those rented licenses without delay. The Gold Coast is a small area, and your dead rentals are screwing backup plans for those in 20km radius that can live with a less than perfect sounding CBRS. If SOU-07 in Southport is off air only because of that low level noise problem, then that is unsatisfactory!

VHU-04 will never be reinstalled at the licensed address, thus renewal of that license 18/11/2008 was pure selfishness blocking out that 20km radius block all this time. As bad as ABC-03 has been, it's clocked up more air time than 04 and 07 of late.

Solution, I (and those that want to join with me) promise the Gold Coast a repeater that may not be of a crystal clear 'perfect Pete' standard, but it will be operational, and like the Brisbane service, operated by the people that use and depend on it, and by people that will use this forum and a dedicated site to report situations without delay so as to keep Citizens in the know about their public Band service.

Show your support and leave a message telling the above mentioned license holders to get a wriggle on, one way or the another in your favors. Helping give 'We The People' our Voices Back.

Signed, cOOter. 21/06/09

(late update) Ow good'o, we have channel 08 on the air again the next day after my first post. Too bad it's almost in NSW where truckwits bleed through on 38 between Oxford down to Tweed. Poor Chapo and co having to drive all the way out there during winter must be fun (not) as well.

03 being off air is a good thing. If it's a permanent matter, then that pawn can be knocked off the board freeing up locations for other ideas locally in Qld.  ;D

[quote]  ... It has long been my opinion that people using the CBRS do not know
the full capabilities of equipment that is available to them. No where is this more obvious
than in such areas as the Gold Coast or Capital cities.  In these places the CBRS seems to
be more of a toy than a tool...

I can't use up all my good jokes so soon. Wait until about page eight. If I may I'll just quote my last week post at RR..

Quote:Restock all DSE shelves Australia wide just because Grevis is planted in the middle of the Coast 20km zone upsetting VHU04 ACMA paper work? TIP: 03 is off air which equals a realistic opportunity to knock that pawn off the board. If I have to get new narrow band radios, you're paying for them all.
