Oi

even: copy.
I caught him in a good mood today.
He has two here.
$20 for one if ya keen.

Getting a bit pissed off with no repeater.
I was thinking of putting two gayofangs together
and sitting up on a hill this weekend.
Ya reckpn a 33 input from one gayofang
and into another on 3 with VOX on, would work?
Technically I'd just need a male 3.5mm mono lead?
One end into the speaker of the 33 listener radio, the other end into the mic input on the transmit radio with 3??
Metho has a spare gayofag and was offering it for such a cause.
Greivs still hasn't replied.

who is in a good mood and what do I need to pay $20 for ?
not sure your baofeng idea will work with a lead plugged in.
If you set the vox you should be able to have the speaker of 33 facing the mic of 3.
I reckon that will work, but you will need to separate the antennas.
I have a spare little twangy wire antenna and a speaker mic if you want to try it

Yes you can use 2 transceivers as a repeater.
Biggest problem is keeping the TX signal out of the RX radios front end.
Easiest way is to use external antennas and stack them one above the other with the RX one at the top.
You COULD mount one Gay o Fang above the other on a mast.
And yes, I would say that a lead from the speaker out to the mic in may well work and just use VOX on the TX radio.
Id say that you may need to add a couple of resistors to the speaker out to drop the level as the mic input will probably overload.
You'd need at a guess maybe a 20Db unbalanced "pad".

Bear in mind that the folks at the ACMA might not like your repeater.

haha love it

you can get baofeng in cammo colours - probably for this kind of application
write :dimmock: s name on it incase the authorities find it
or at least make sure you are wearing your :burka:
